I've used them for years as soon as fish start suspending in the summer. They work like a champ.
Bender and a #13 pet spoon. Belly weight and two foot leader.

Method has worked well for us at tawakoni since john Varner shared it here several years ago. Have used all kinds of lures behind the bender but the pet spoon (not knockoffs) work best, crappie plastics next best

There is a good video on YouTube at Cader Creek. Is this the video you were referring to? We had a blast shooting this almost 7 yrs ago.
