I have a question... I have two kayaks that weigh 210 lbs. together. Question- Would pulling them on my empty single axle boat trailer affect my tires? I have heard not to pull an empty trailer but my boat weight is 850 lb. -- Suggestions on yes/no-- maybe so. Long trips of 250 may be taken. Thoughts?

I don't think you'll have issues with your tires just don't inflate them to the max load limit. Problem you will have is a lot of bounce. Your trailer has probably 1500-2000# springs on it and the light load won't move them any. Are you going to use this trailer for kayaks only now? I just built a kayak trailer out of an old boat trailer. I dropped from 2000# to 1000# springs. Got the springs for $20 each.

No just on different trips mainly out of state. Rivers. When we go to the coast I take boat and kayaks. Thank you for the info. I just didn't want to sacrifice tires. Had a truck and a t-bar for support and could take off with kayaks that way. Now just a jeep with trailer hitch. Thanks again.
