I'm not looking for anyone's secret spots or anything, just looking for a report.... Has anyone had any luck lately fishing the rocks on hubbard for channel cats? I fished the north side of 30 2 weeks ago and did go on minnows and dip baits but have not been back since. I seen some cotton wood floating and figured it might be that time!

They were there 2 weeks ago too. May have been an off day, or just needed to move around to find them.

Yes the fish where their 2 weeks ago but 90% of them where little dinks only about 8-10" in length. Although we did land 3 nice cats, 11 lb blue, 8 lb blue and a 4 lb channel cat. It was by far the largest channel cat i've ever caught at hubbard. I'll give it another shot a few nights this weekend and see how i fair.

Weird year. They're not where they should be.

I agree. I have a spot I have been fishing since mid-May, when I usually begin to catch fish each year. First couple of weeks, strike out nothing going on. Two weeks ago they turned on and I was catching limits easy in a couple of hours. Lots of females full of eggs in that bunch with some males scattered throughout.

Went today and caught 10 keepers with a couple of blues mixed in with the channels. I caught a lot of small ones, way more than usual. More males than females in this bunch, although a couple of females were still full of eggs. They are not acting like they usually do.

Now that's a mess of good eatin!

We haven't been able to really pattern them this year. Some places have more fish than others, and we've lucked in to finding those spots, some days we kill em, the next day we pick at them, still seeing crappie in 3-5' of water in consistent numbers which makes no sense so i don't know what to tell you, water temps are obviously still very low.
