Are you wanting to target trout or warm water species?

Take a selection of all the flies mentioned above and weight them down to get them to the bottom. If you haven't been there in a year or so, get ready for a rude surprise. Have patience, lots of it.

When I was there about 3 weeks ago I had my best luck in the very early AM, before anyone else was out. They fed fairly avidly at that time. Later in the day, not so much. Try a size 18 pheasant tail, weighted to get to the bottom, trailed with a size 22 olive or cream zebra-type midge. Fish the deepest holes of the Evening Hole you can find, or anywhere there's a "run", a section of slightly deeper, faster current, surrounded by shallower, slower water. Fish the bottom in those runs and deeper holes. Try to get in the water by 6:30 at the latest. I haven't had any luck lately in the late morning, early afternoon.
