Couldn't find any cats over 9 inches, water still really stained and I'm sure the south wind wasn't helping my cause. On the good side shad is extremely plentiful by the spillway. Struck out again 0/5 trips on my new home water. Anybody else have better luck than me? Thinking its time for a guided trip to jumpstart better luck fishing.

I just got off that lake myself and I only caught about fifteen here and there, biggest one was only about four pounds, you are right about the shad because I only threw my net about five times and had more than enough bait.

Has the island always been there, or is the lake just that high? I was going to give that a try next time I go out.

Both. I have only caught channels on EM but no legal ones so far.

Thanks for the info on the island.

Went yesterday at the very north end where the trinity comes into the lake. Caught probably 15 with the biggest around 7 lbs. More channels than blues. Used threadfin shad on bottom. Good luck to you.
