Finally got to get on the water with my brother again. And also had the pleasure of taking Mr. REDGUN for a "boat ride" roflmao. Actually, we put a whoopin' on them in my book! Best day of crappie fishing we've had! I finally got a fish finder mounted on the bow and man what a difference it made! No more guessing if we're on brush or feeling for it with your jig. Now I have to give credit where it's due. I got out fished blush but my excuse is I was tied up on the phone trying to work the trolling motor and hook fish at the same time bang. I finally gave up for a little while and handed the controls off to my brother. But I did catch the big fish of the day, dang thug HAMMERED it, and when it broke the surface I thought it was a bass! Pics don't do it justice, dang thing had a bucket for a mouth! Now Jake, don't know what his excuse is (I'm sure he's got a good one wink ) cause REDGUN out fished him too roflmao. That man can fish no doubt. Never seen anyone work a crappie jig like a bass worm thru a brush pile, but with his weedless heads and ninjy skills IT WORKED! Most of my fish came off of my blue grass and white and yellow jigs. Jake slap wore them out on my all grey jig except one pile that the fish just wouldn't touch it. REDGUN fished with a little of everything but as far as I could tell was blue and chart stump bug and black and chart shadpole. (Correct me if I'm wrong on that Mark) we left with a count of 54 crappie landed with 34 keepers, one baby hybrid and a great big smile on our faces. All fish off of brush in 12 - 17 FOW. Mark it was a pleasure meeting and fishing with you, glad we got into them. Thanks for the good looking bladed jig heads too!
Sorry we didn't take any pics on the water, we were too busy CATCHING grin

Here's the winning jigs of the day

You guys were vertical jigging, I was just trying to do something "different". LOL, this time, it WORKED. Those weedless jigheads are the BOMB for brushpile fishing!! thumb (I just wish they didn't take me so long to make them)

Great job Heath, and you are right the picture does not do that fish justice. That blue and yellow jig looks amazing!

It's just not sportsman like to outfish a guest on your boat. I like to help them feel welcome roflmao Unfortunately that's not the case though. I was simply outfished!
