Lake Buchanan - Hazards Running Lake

Have never fished Buchanan, are there any hazards at whatever the lake level currently is when you are running the lake? If I have Navionics should I be okay staying towards the channel area? Thanks!

The main thing to watch out for on that lake is rock piles, points, and humps that extend far out into the lake. As long as you stay in the channel areas with your navionics and navigate humps and points with wide berths, you should be fine. It gets a little more tricky up past Garrett island and Tow. Fish were biting a few weeks back. Good luck.

Fished the lower end Tuesday, water was pretty muddy, there was small pieces of wood floating in the water but nothing big. I would use caution running up river or anywhere past Garrett Island. Fishing was slow, caught 9 with three keepers on Yum black and blue craw, hope this helps.

Thanks, RJE. So I would be okay running anywhere up to that island without knowing the lake? If you need to use caution after that I won't go any further then since I am unfamiliar.

Stay in the Channel and you will be good. Biggest danger is debris right now.
