Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control, the Lewisville event will be moved to Eagke Mountain Lake. Tournament site will be Westbay Marina. As always, this will be a trailering event, however every team must come by for boat checks.
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused anyone. We have been communicating with Corps of Engineers for a couple of weeks now. The lake is still rising and Ramps are closing and preparing to close. We are going to take Texoma off the schedule, and go to Lewisville in the month of July. There shouldn't be a problem with ramps by then.
We will send out an email tonight, to everyone that we have email addresses for with details about Eagle Mountain .

Good call. I wish Texoma was staying on, but that's ok. Glad yall got the word out before this weekend.

my understanding was tower bay was the only one open and they didn't want them to run a tournament out of there.

there is only two ramp closed on Lewisville as of today, Lakeview in the old lake side and lake park because of construction. but tournament director decisions are not meant to please everyone and of course B. Hollingshead would be exited for Eagle Mountain. Another season shot down the drain by mother nature. I haven't been on E.M. in 7 years should be interesting.

This was an email from my partner and he wanted this posted here as he doesn't have a TFF profile. I agree with this by the way.... is it really that bad that a 50-70 boat tournament cannot be held as originally planned, lots of ramps are open and the email stating Tower Bay is the only ramp open is NOT correct.

"""""Dont know about anyone else but I have been getting on Lewisville with no problem, in fact the lake has dropped a few inches the last couple days. There are more ramps on the lake other than the WEST side. Stewarts creek to name one, Colony - a city park in the Colony that is open. High water didnt stop the Elites , but it stopped TTO on Texoma, and now TTO on Lewisville. (Just Saying) Are we Bass fishing or going to girl scout meetings..

Taking Texoma off the schedule and replacing it with Lewisville without any rational explanation is not sitting well with me. We joined this trail based on the lakes posted before the season started and this is the 2nd time TTO has left a bad impression...First was Texoma and the NON notification....now moving it to another lake when there are several ramps open for a TRAILERING event? And taking Texoma off the schedule completely and replacing with Lewisville, why???

Lastly, as others have posted, only 2 ramps are closed today. We're 10 days out with NO rain in the forecast, just upsetting with all the practice put in and no valid reason to cancel this event. ""

Rant over.

I just wish the Texoma event was not moved. I can manage Eagle Mountain BUT there is another big tournament going out the same day. There's going to be a lot of boats on the lake for sure.

It's not all about just popping a tent up and hosting a tournament, some of these lakes require permits and they regulate where and when they can have them, it cost them money for those permits and TTO is out on the permits. Grapevine is the same way. So if they tell him they don't want them running out of that ramp there hands are tied. Yea eagle is in my back yard as well as a lot of other guys, I would of loved to of gone to lewisville as good as it's been fishing and Texoma but it is what it is and I'll go anywhere.

I don't believe most anglers really understand what all goes into hosting a tournament. Trust me when I say that this is as big, if not a bigger inconvenience for TTO than its anglers. First of all this isn't a weekday evening tournament were you just throw a scale on a tailgate and hold a weigh-in. Secondly, TTO will not get the numbers on EM that they would have on Lewisville, do you think they really want to hurt their draw? I know that they did everything possible to find a way to keep the event at Lewisville but mother nature can not be controlled. Just because you can launch a boat on a lake doesn't mean you can host a tournament there. Also, as a TD you have to make a decision as early as possible to allow your anglers ample time to practice. I was also looking forward to fishing Lewisville but things happen that are just out of our control.

You must have missed the fact that it's also been raining.... a lot, covering some 100 and 500 year flood areas, washing out roads etc..it's not like it's been a normal past 2 years of weather
