I made the short drive across the river to check out the expo today. Overall is was a fun trip and I'm glad I went. I was a little disappointed that the expo was outside. It was hot.
The best parts:
Talked to Edwin Evers about pecans and his pecan farm. If you haven't tried his pecans, they are some of the best, most buttery sweet pecans I have ever tasted. He was genuinely thankful and happy we enjoy them. Get some, you won't be sorry.
http://www.edwineverspecans.com/The Shimano Reel Garage is one of the greatest services I've ever seen any vendor offer at an expo. Reel servicing by a shimano technician was free, and it included complete disassembly, cleaning, and parts replacement where needed, including bearings and drag washers. This was way beyond what I expected, and was worth the trip alone. I'm so thankful, my reels are like new again. Shimano is an amazing company for offering this outstanding service. None of the other reel companies were providing any service like this.
I also learned a few good tips from the BASS University seminars.
Warm is certainly an understatement, but it was a great day and I'm sure glad I went.
