Is anyone surprised by the bloody tails on the shallow caught largemouth in photos from Bassfest at Texoma? I would have thought by now they would be healing up. High water late spawners? Just curious what folks thought.

Fish spawning in early June is not really late for certain areas of Texoma. thumb

As late as some of the weather pushed things back this spring and Texoma is always warms up late. I wouldn't doubt that there are some spawners still out there.

Late spawners for sure. Up until a week ago there were fish still spawning on Lake Austin

Red tails caught on Lake Conroe last weekend too, and Conroe spawns early
