I have the XI5 for 2 years now. Love it!!!! Holds tight on brushpiles. More time jigging.
Idk bout the Ipilot. Ps xi5 has built in tranducers.

I pilot is honestly not useful if you are going to be a crappie only fisherman, but if you plan on fishing for sandbass or anything else too, it's very helpful. I'd get the foot pedal with it.
