Is it just me or does there seem to be a inordinate portion of the rods being sold today coming in medium heavy and heavy? Am I the only fisherman that uses medium and medium light (fresh water) rods? Just curious.

I prefer a 7' single piece medium or MH for a spinning rod for white bass and hybrids. I like the extra backbone in the MH and I use 20# Power Pro on it.

For my baitcaster, I always use a 7' single piece MH with 30# PowerPro and a 2 ounce bait. This is my 99% of the time rod and I use it on white bass, hybrids, stripers, and the occasional 50# catfish.

Ya live in Texas. The average Texas angler WANTS those heavy action rods. Not sure why that is. If you to to Tackle Warehouse you'll find a great selection of lighter action rods.

I love my TFO Tactical medium action rods, I've got a couple TFO Signature ML casting rods as well and fish them all the time. Only real time I go to a MH is when I'm dead sticking.
