Been using Zoom plastics for decades but just recently noticed something different about some of the colors/baits. Last weekend while fishing Mag II worms noticed the red shad didn't have nearly the salt content of the plum color. Sometimes after catching a fish and tearing up the head, would bite off about an inch and re-rig. Big difference in taste and texture of different colors of the same model worm with the Super Salt Plu$ colors being more salty. Later looked at the packages closely and the plum say "Super Salt Plu$". The red shad say "Better Than Salt". What is Better Than Salt?
Thought maybe certain colors such as red shad and tequila sunrise couldn't be made with much salt might be an answer but looked at some red shad flukes and their package says "Salty Super Fluke".
Anybody know the real story?

I have noticed this as well. I've got no idea but I am interested to see what the answer is.

Better Than Salt is a salt substitute; developed to be more dense, not as salty and dissolves much slower. Being more dense, it is a fraction heaver. It is a protein solvent that is suppose to make a plastic more durable. This is a question I ask my Biotech that makes my Pure Extract and that was his answer. He does a lot of testing on proteins and salt, which is another form that fish can smell and taste.

Anybody know the real story? This why I use Berkley. I never have liked zoom when it comes to their worms. I do like zoom for flukes and brush hawgs, lizards, trick worms, horny toads, grubs, centipedes Oh heck I guess I like them for everything but their curly tail worms.

I've switched to Big Bite Baits.
