 Athens got me stumped.

Need some help on Athens . I can't catch a cold there. I have been 3 times and got 1 fish each trip. I was there yesterday fished frog and spook over grass early Threw a watermelon brush hog late morning on grass lines 10ft - 15ft deep I finally got one with a watermelon chatterbait with a swim bait trailer. Wife threw a spinnerbaits and traps when she wasn't sleeping. Any tips would be appriciated not asking for your spots just what to look for am I fishing too shallow ? This lake has my number. Thanks for any tips.

It's been off this year compared to last year. I'm sure there are "pros" who are sacking 38 lb.'s every-time they go and just hammering them every single time out, but it has definitely fished different for me this year.

It's been off this year compared to last year. I'm sure there are "pros" who are sacking 38 lb.'s every-time they go and just hammering them every single time out, but it has definitely fished different for me this year. You just have to drive around in the right boat and they jump in!

Thanks for any tips. Here's a tip I learned. Just read the bass section here. If a lake is fishing well, there will be lot's of posts on here with people touting their prowess on that body of water. If there isn't much on here about a lake, it's fishing tough at that time.

try a drop shot, bitsy jig, and a 4"T-rig worm. Go small and the big ones will also eat these. Fish points with grass.
you know, nothing wrong with seven men who met on the internet going for a swim together

Caught some on a frog early when it was cloudy Saturday.weightless baits around docks and about 50yards off the bank in the deeper grass.Also found some offshore 10-15ft spots that were holding small ones.

Wacky rigged trick worm on the grass edges. Takes patience with the slow fall, but they love it out there.
