When I was doing a lot of competition varmint hunting I discovered that if I played two sounds at once that a coyote could focus on the sound he wanted and I could narrow down the best sound of that night. I also have done something like this with crappie when I couldn't get a jig bite I would use two jigs of three different colors and usually one of the six colors would trigger a bite and I could narrow down the preferred color of the day. My question is if I mix 6-8 scents together in boilies or any bait can a fish distinguish that as six separate scents or will it just be a whole new scent that may not work?

I hope this makes sense.

That's a very important question that fish science needs to answer. In the meantime using sound techniques and putting the bait where the fish are is so productive here in texas. I believe scent DOES matter though.I'll have try a Tuna tutti fruitti casserole!

I agree that carp here are not hard to catch but you always want the best you can get on that day. Let me know about that casserole I think I'll pass on it.

I've always found that cinnamon and chili powder can add attraction, as well as a sweet taste like corn or maple syrup.

Scent, Sight and Taste, all play an important factor. Rather than trying 6 different scents at once, why not try one at a time, or even a couple, then you would know better which work best as the attractant on a given day or venue >

Would be interesting to hear of your testing results!
