Dragging the boat to Sam Rayburn for 2 days of fishing this weekend with some old college buddies, none of which have a lot/if any fishing experience, but one of them has a place about 10 minutes from the lake. I have never been on Rayburn, and would like to put them on some fish. I am hoping to get pointed in the right direction to put these guys on some fish with some simple methods (senko, cb/spinnerbait, frog). We will be launching out of Sandy Creek Park. Not trying to make a long run or knock off my lower unit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Fish around the Black Forest area. It's not far from sandy. Fish are in the bushes and the lake is high. You can catch bigger fish if you back out some. Check some of the main lake points or go down the middle of the drains.

Go straight across the lake from Sandy Creek to Norris Creek. There's plenty of bushes and hydrilla in there. There's absolutely no hazards to hit between Sandy Creek and Norris so you're safe there. You can catch them on a frog, spinnerbait, swimjig or light Texas rig around the hydrilla.

Sandy Creek ramp is pretty steep. If you are launching with a half ton 2wd drive pickup and a heavy boat, you might have some problems if the ramp is wet.

Uh, isn't there a huge stump about 300 yards out of sandy?
