Wen to Gander Mountain in Arlington Saturday to by my oil(only place that carries it) decided to buy a Pro Max. Marked $79.00, basically normal price. Got to the counter they rang up $59.00. Asked if they were on sale they said yes, but no sign advertises it. Any one interested in Pro Max might want to go take a trip.

I went on Friday in Lake Worth to get a couple things and their soft plastics were on sale among other things. They didn't advertise their sale at this location either... You'd think they would want to show their products on sale to entice a buyer but I guess not. I had trouble finding a specific shirt for my wife that showed in stock, but of course no employees to be found. I ended up finding a substitute for less, so I was happy.

Worse place ever for fishing gear, assistance, and price! Wish they'd put an academy there instead!

I don't understand how Gander Mountain can stay in business.

I have a love/hate relationship with GM I purchased my first bait casting rigs two months ago online. When I went to pick them up I ordered only one rig the cashier gave me two by mistake and when I came back to return it they said don't worry about it just keep it. The second order was last week and they gave my Penn spinning set up to someone else so I had to wait three days for another to ship and when It came in they had written someone else's name on the pick up sheet.

The manager at the Tyler store (Randy I think...I am the world's worst at remembering names) is a good guy who is trying to make the store more fisherman friendly. He donated a couple of rods to our bass club as soon as he came to town and made it a point to seek out and get to know some of us. I went in a while back to buy Yamalube 2 stroke oil and he spend 10 minutes searching online for a lower advertised price so he could give me a break off the $44.99 sticker.

I'll have to check it out to see what they have on sale.

As for how they stay in business, I think they do well at the gun counter.
