2011 fx20 with 250 sho and 12" atlas hydro. Yamaha 25t1 prop On the front of slide there is a yellow ruler with inches. What setting should it be on for best top end? I'm still learning how to drive boat but I heard the t1 likes to be lower in the water
With it set at the 2 inch marker I'm getting 69 tourney loaded at 5800 rpm. It isn't the prop to pad measurement because as the jack plate goes up the inch number goes up too. Am I missing something?

Set propshaft at 2 3/4 below pad. Youll actually have to level the boat and motor then physically measure it to get it set right. Then mark your plate next to the tape with a marker.

It's hydraulic.. Start low and raise until you lose lift or water pressure, then back down a click and you'll know exactly where it needs to be. Mark it and you'll have your spot.
You will adjust when needed, rough water takes a lower setting, idling through flats takes a higher, but once you mark your "normal" spot you can put it right back every time.
No two boats are identical, each one needs its special place.

I set mine at 4 and leave it there. Make sure you put it all the way down when trailering!

you'll damage the slides trailering all the way up. and it puts a tremendous amount of pressure on the motor mounting plate.
all the way down is safest way to trailer.
