Seen it referenced to here and a few other places, but can't find it on any PK map.

I named that place. It's a cove on Gaines Bend where the residents have several green lights for night fishing. Before the floods, stripers were thick as fleas in the 30-40 foot water outside that cove. Before the floods, I could get several big stripers there by trolling across that cove. Now days, you mark very very few fish there. Mostly sandbass, drum or cats that hang out there now. The fishing at PK has radically changed since the floods.

I used to fish exclusively with lures but since have switched to live bait, as that's all that consistently works. I even purchased a bait tank this year.

Places that are holding striper now are some of the big docks at the mouths of coves in Neely Slough or Bluff Creek. You'll know them when you drive by, as your fish finder will light up like a Christmas tree.

Thanks this is really helpful. Trying to figure out how to striper and white bass fish after largemouth fishing my whole life.

Russ: I haven't marked any fish there in a long time. Might be some sandies and largemouths on the light at night but stripers are elsewhere. Gaines bend looks like the Mississippi today. A deep nasty looking brown.

Ya I figured that. I finally got my new light installed last weekend. I've had my photocell stolen off of my light 6 different times. It finally got enough rain in the guts that it died on me. I also had a $500 rig with a custom personalized rod stolen off of my dock one night after I went to bed. Really a shame that people would do that. I ponied up and bought a new $350 light and installed it so I hope it doesn't happen again.

I don't fish much out of the boat anymore. When I was a kid I would wade out on that point and cast to deeper water and never knew what I would catch. I've fished in that cove for 30+ years. Now I just let the kids catch enough off of the light for a fish fry every time I go.

Me, my grandfather, and my dad have fished every inch of the south end of the lake. A lot of it right out in front of our house and in that cove. We've caught some whoppers of every species. I've seen so many people catch big fish right in front of us which I always thought was cool. Just don't fish our dock when my grandfather and dad were fishing for catfish! Haha. They are both gone now. I've seen bass fisherman real in several 8+ lb fish off of our dock while I was chatting with them. Pretty cool stuff.

Russ: These lower cost LED lights work really good. You should try one, as it might save some money.

As muddy as PK is right now fish could not see anything.
