I bought a HDS 8 Gen 2 and when I go split screen on structure scan it shows side scan on both screens. I can not get the down scan to show at all. Any Help Please?

Press and hold down the pages button until the orange outline box goes around the structure scan page that you want to change. Then hit menu and scroll down to view. You will see left, right, left & right, down

See the orange box in the pic below? That's the screen that will be changed when the menu button is hit. You'll have to move that orange box everytime you want to make an adjustment to a particular page.

Will this also work to adjust the zoom? When I have a split screen GPS/chart and I hit zoom the only thing that it will change is the zoom on the map.

The orange box controls which side the changes are made to, so yes. Hold the pages button until the orange box changes sides. If it's a touch graph then, touch & hold for a second the side you want to make changes to.

Guys, go read the frickin' manual. The "operational secrets" we reveal here are what some of us learn by reading the user manual! That's the book that comes in the box with the sonar - if you didn't throw it away with the box.

P.S.: If you threw it away or bought a unit used, the manuals are available for download from Lowrance.

Man, grout-scout, I wish you were closer to me I would pay you to go out on my boat and help dial my units in. Thanks for the help.

my manual says to hit the pages button twice to switch pages. I am going to try that tomorrow. When I hold the pages button down I just get the pages across the bottom. I thought I found the trick 2 weeks ago when the page switched with a push of the arrow key to the right but I could not duplicate it. as reading the manual goes it only goes so far. Manual is not very good.
