I am thinking about heading to Fork next week to try some night fishing, getting away from the crowds and the heat. I was wondering if anyone knows how the bite has been lately at night.

I talked with a guy last weekend at Fork who had done some night fishing and said it has been pretty tough for him lately. I sure fished some area's during the day I would like to go back to at night and throw a Black Hilldebrandt spinnerbait around and see what happens. My brother caught a 6 lb slot fish on a jig that was buried up in the flooded brush. I wonder how much more rain they got this week.

Well, with my schedule, I have to take trips when I can even if not under the best conditions. It is getting hot enough in the afternoon to make most day trips unpleasant and there's nothing like being on a lake at night for some solitude. I don't get to Fork often but the only time I catch fish there is at night.

Lake came up some after yesterday's rain. Pretty sure the gates will be open if not already. I haven't checked with any official personnel..just going by what I saw.
