Last I heard it was closed due to being too full.
Thinking it would be great if it opens by the weekend.

I was there last Saturday. Every park was still closed. There were two boat trailers at the dirt ramp on the west end. Water levels this morning show to still be at 3.49' high. The high water and wave action tend to scour the pavement at some ramps. I wouldn't expect that ramps will be open by the weekend.

Tentative open date is 06/17/2016 depending on additional rain fall.

So much for tentative open date; 10.1 inches rain on the water shed 5/26 to 5/27. Lake level as of 7:00am 5/28 13.64 feet above pool and rising PDF. Lots of water still coming in from Lake Leon, Leon River, and the Sabanna River.

5/31/-Lake Proctor is at 22.84' above pool and still rising. I suspect it way be a long time before things are open again. I never imagined Id see so much water in Proctor. I hope they budgeted for repairs.

I hope they budgeted for repairs. Proctor and Hoards Creek fall under Ft Worth district and are at the bottom of the bucket when it comes to budget money. They barely had enough to re-open after last years flood. As of 6;30am 06/01/2016 it is 27.04'above pool and rising 2 plus inches an hour and more rain coming. I very seriously doubt it will be open this year. I had camping reservations every month thru the end of September; received a call from Reserve USA last night that all were cancelled.

Proctor is an unbelievable 30 feet high above pool. They are letting tons of water out but more is coming in than going out. There has to be homes or at least roads flooded around the lake. It will not open back up for a long time.

I needed to get off the ranch yesterday so I rode over to have a look at Proctor. It is unbelievable! I took some great pics of people set up fishing the edge of the flooded road where the bridge generally is. The bridge is under an estimated 18' of water. The lake is now at 31.11' and growing. All the parks are completely under water and so are some homes. It will be a very long wait until any ramps are open again. I guess I'll have to stick to Squaw and Brownwood for awhile. I suppose it's safe to say that the drought is over. CK

Sat 06/04/16 at 6:30 am lake is 35.12 foot above pool and rising; releasing 9284cfs. Things may be about to get worse. Sheriff department reporting 40 acre private Lake near Gorman dam leaking and expected to fail. If it fails it will dump into the Sabanna River and ultimately Proctor. Lake is .50 shy of record level set in 1990.

Wish one of you fellas could post some pictures of Proctor right now. Would be something to see, though pretty sad. Had a trip planned for October, but know that's not much reality now.

It the water level now is around 35.5 ft high. I'm with big country, I'd like to see what the lake looks like now, and it sounds like I won't fish it for a while. Right now, and for the next month(s) it'll seem rough, but all this rain will ultimately help everything out, especially the laguna madre. It's more or less a blessing in disguise and will take time to show itself.

This is from CR 1467 at Sowell Creek. Generally the road drops downhill and across the bridge. Id say it's under roughly 20' of water. The little 9 hole golf course has a water hazard right up to the front of the Clubhouse. The Guard Shack at Sowell Creek Park.

This is the Damn from Copperas. This is looking down the dam. Look at the Live Oaks in the distance to understand just how high the water is. This is the release from the lake as it heads down the Leon River. Unbelievable! I don't see any way that these parks will be open for very long time. I moved up here 13 months ago from South Texas and was just getting this lake figured out. I suppose Lake Brownwood will be the go-to lake for awhile. CK
