I know they are not top of the line rods, but has anyone used their rods. The blackout series are the Hellbent series. Thanks in advance.

I personally haven't tried any out yet but I've been researching them a lot. Watching all the youtube videos I can find on them. Check out the latest videos from Flukemaster, he switched to all blackouts with 13 fishing reels. But at the same time I'm thinking he's sponsored by them. I mostly read positive reviews on them but there are a few that say they've had a few of the micro guides come off. I think the first few guides are regular guides then towards the tip they switch to micro guides. One guy said he still liked the rod so much that he still uses them, just adds a little epoxy to the guides.

I have a blackout rod now for about 6 months and use it for jig's. I have the 7ft 11 heavy and it has performed so far with no problems. I've caught a few 4 and 5 lb fish with it and like I stated so far so good. I have a few 13 fishing rods also so and really not impressed with them except the blacks. If I'd had known about the blackout rods I'd more than likely would have bought a couple more just to try. But you really never know what your getting. Like I said so far so good on mine.

Msg, that may have been me. I recently bought a Blackout rod and the guide epoxy jobs were cracked on several rods a guide actually fell out. I went to AutoZone and bought some 2 part epoxy and when I was done, hour later, the guides were much better than factory. I checked at Gander and all of the rods they had, about 4-5, all guides loose, cracked guide epoxy.

No. 8 offered to replaced the rod free but I felt like I had improved the rod and would be giving up a better rod than getting back.

Honestly, for $80, I would consider stepping up $20 more and getting a Bucoo, Veritas, Duckett, Carbonlite or AllStar.
