More People than fish this weekend. Did manage to catch some Speckled Trout, Red Fish, and Flounder, but had to work for them. The best way I found fish, by fishing favorite spots, where I know the fish should be. The fish are there, but the bite was generally soft. There is a lot of fresh water, but what's new? The fishing is better in the relatively less muddy waters. There are times and places where the water quality is better, that is where you want to spend your time fishing. Caught everything in 2'-4' of water, mostly over mud/shell bottom, mostly close to flooded grassy shorelines. Did manage to go through 4 quarts of shrimp and a few packs of Gulp in 2 days. So we did find fish, just a lot of undersized of everything. The birds are a lot of help if you want to catch Rat Reds and Dink Trout. Our better fish were scattered where there was a lot of bait movement in the water, away from the crowds of boats. Live Shrimp pretty much saved the day, both days, but the Gulp still caught the most Flounder.

I am hoping to catch flounder and reds in corpus cristi bay and Baffin bay. Which would you go to first? Ans would you fish the mouth of the bays or mid way or deep in close to the inlets. This will the first time in my 18ft Skeeter bass boat. I will have some grandchildren with me so most likely will be drift fishing for Flounder with them. How deep were you catching the Flounder and was it in clear water or muddy and what kind of cover were they in. Were you using gulp shrimp or their curley tails? Any help from anyone to help make my trip fun for me and the kids would be great. I will start fishing the 4th of June through the 12th. Thanks guys, Larry
