Advice for Galveston this weekend?

Headed down there Friday thru Wednesday just to slum around on some vaca and am wondering banking where should I go to catch a first saltwater fish? Bringing the bass and striper gear some topwater baits cranks and flukes... Anyone wanna go fishing and maybe show me around? Let me know and tight lines!!! Thanks

I was up there 5/22-5/24 and caught a ton of specks and about 10 reds. Had a house rented on Sportsman's Rd (bayside). All caught under the lights. Daytime, I just bummed around. Speck rigs and mirrolure mirrodine worked, but they really really wanted live shrimp.

sister caught croakers and pinfish during the daytime where we were at - just small pieces of fresh dead shrimp.
