the hardhead thread got me thinking....
I love eating pretty much everything out of the ocean, but I have my limits. NO: barracuda crevalle catfish amberjack over 40# any bottom fish caught over coral (ciguatera) ray/shark puffer
how about the rest of you ???????

how about the rest of you ??????? Agree with most of your list. Some ray/shark critters are pretty good if bled out & iced down immediately. Here's some saltwater fish I won't bother keeping to eat: lizardfish, arrowtooth flounder, pacific mackerel, atlantic bonito. Nothing else leaps to mind.

Why don't you run a special at your diner for hardhead po'boys and let us know how your customers like them?

There's some funny critters swimming in the bay if it's not a flounder trout or redfish it's not going in the box. If we can't catch those then we're having hot dogs.

Half my family lives south of New Iberia. Eaten my share of gar balls and coubian. If you want to fillet a eel then get all you want.
I'll take care of my own with what we really want.

pretty much agree but the shark is good in my opinion. just have to get the skin off since they excrete their urine through their skin. just throw them in the cooler and they will taste like [censored]. generally only keep the ones that don't act like they won't make it. kings are not my fave but they come home sometimes.

Cut all the red out of a kingfish and fry it. Different texture for sure but doable. It's also very good smoked and made into a dip. For the grill, steak it, mayo and toni's it and enjoy. Cooks white.

Only eat Cobia, Dolphin (Dorado), Snapper, Grouper. All the rest are for giveaways for friends who like them.
