Can anyone recommend a good bream lake around the Texarkana area or near.Looks like the crappie fishing is doomed due to flooding.

Never fished that area before. A few nice lakes in east Texas that hold a good population of sunfish (Bream) are Caddo,Fork, and Conroe. Just about every type of water body should hold a population of sunnies. Right now in our area the spawn is going on. Hope you find them. Looking forward to possibly seeing some reports from the Texarkana area. thumb

The old water works lake at Wamba had a great bream population at one time but I haven't fished it in a few years.

Thanks taterpop but that's where I've been going. Its now called Bringle Lake. A college and a golf course has been built around half of it. Ever since the construction of the two it has never recovered to yesteryear. It got muddied very bad and hasn't been the same. The numbers are there but the quality isn't. A thing of the past apparently. It takes all day to get a catch of 20 or so keepers.

So sorry to hear that, had many good trips in the past when it didn't even have the good boat ramp. The last time I went it was down on the catch rate I thought I might be having a bad day.
