I was told today that over 2000 dead sandbass and crappie were pick up in lake. Anyone know if this true?

Yesh started a couple 3 weeks ago. State biologist said it was a gill parasite. They pulled water samples. It must have checked out ok cause they stocked 100,000 hybrids last week.

I had a friend camp at doctors creek a few weeks back and he said they were dead catfish floating all over the lake then. Hopefully it want be to bad. Is there any big stripers left in cooper? We haven't found them the last two years.

Wasn't as bad as it seemed the changing winds just kept pushing the floaters back and fourth across the lake. The catfish are on fire but haven't had much luck on hybrids.

I had very few days last year that I could get them to bite. Worried about this year haven't caught but a handful on cutbait while Catfishing usally have days where you can't get away from them in the Spring.

I asked the game warden Saturday on lake Tawakoni if he knew anything about it, he said he had not heard anything.

I actually went last saturday not knowing about the fish kill, i was wandering why we were the only boat on the lake!lol, then a few other boats showed up,we saw some fish floating on top of the water, looked like dead crappie, thought that was odd, water was very muddy, found some sandies on a hump out from Tira ramp but couldnt get any bites, it wasn't till later this week I heard about the gill desease and fish kill, I hope it bounces back! I've had some awsome days at Cooper in the past!!
