Just a little rant on them. Our lake ( Whitney ) has been flooded now for 2 years in a row. I understand that is a holding lake , and there is really nothing they can do about it. But our marinas last week and this week are going through there annual inspection. Just seems like the Corp. is throwing salt on a open wound. After all the money lost , and having to spend a lot of money fixing up the marinas from the flood , they do there annual inspection now ? Our marina owner was talking about it yesterday and was telling me they were just knit picking stupid stuff and nothing about helping them. But it is the government , so ???

If the marinas are being maintained properly, there should be no issues. It's all part of doing business with the Corps.

Marinas do sustain damage from storms and winds, but floods??? They float and if they are damaged it's because the winch/anchor systems aren't being used properly. Some marina operators will use any excuse to not spend money. Want an example, look at Pier 36 on Lake Belton. That place was a s**t hole when it was finally shut down and the high water had nothing to do with that.

The lakes can come up enough to have the docks float off of the poles that hold them there and sink/ become damaged. Happened on Texoma last year (maybe this year too).

The Corp is a part of the bureaucracy.
From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."
Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!

The Corp is a part of the bureaucracy. That is true, BUT when a person signs an agreement with "the bureaucracy" that they will maintain the facilities, they should maintain the facilities. It ain't welfare.

Our marina owner does a very nice job on keeping it up , and is one of the best on Whitney. I was just talking about the timing of the corp. Seems they could at least wait till the lake is back to normal.
