I'm sure this has been discussed before but what would you go with and why. 12 Inch Helix or 9 Inch HDS.

Thanks

I have been Lowrance since the lcx days, however my 2017 boat will have helix 10s on the console. I plain on running a 10si and a 10sonar/gps next to each other. This is 2500$ retail. The single Lowrance hds9 gen3 is 2300 plus the 3D structure scan. I love the Lowrances and their customer support, but I'd rather have 20inches of display.

That's not true. I have the 9si and it does 2d, di, and SI

Really? I could have sworn they were sold as either DI or SI. Guess I was wrong.

Do they have one that is just DI? Might be what I was thinking. Anyways, I'll edit the other post.

Between the two you mention I would go with the big screen. I have run birds for around the last 7 years and they work good. They can be a little picky on getting the images dialed in just right but once you get it there small changes keep it looking good. That said, I just switched to lowrance. My dad has a hds7 and 5 and they show fish a lot better than the bird. I haven't got to use mine yet so the verdict is still out but if they give me to many problems I will switch back
