With all the flooding, I decided to keep the boat in storage but still want to take the kids fishing. Can anyone recommend some areas for bank fishing below Conroe?

The river is so high and moving so fast I don't believe it would be safe enough to take the kids bank fishing. I know Conroe is closed but Raven is open at Huntsville state park. You'd be better off taking them there either with or without the boat. It's a beautiful park with lots to do other than just fishing too in case the kids get bored.
I called them yesterday and they were open then. You can take your boat or rent canoes, yaks, or pedal boats there. And there's a couple three piers to fish from as well as bank fishing.
