I'm sure you have researched the needed HP. Do you think the 46 HP will be strong enough? Just curious because, the airboat trip I went on had a 350 HP Chevy V8. Your boat looks great and I know you are proud of the way it's coming along ! Congrats!

Saw one on Lewisville yesterday. Well, actually I heard it first. Definitely was a V8, because it was freaking loud! Watched the guy take it up on the bank a couple of boat lengths and then whip a 180 at full throttle. Crazy Loud!

They look really cool and I'd love to play around with one, but you'd think it would scare all the fish away??? hmmm

No prob Opus. The motor/reduction & upgrades cost $4,100.00. The 69" 3 blade whirlwind prop costs $1,200.00.

And Gentlemen it's a mini-airboat. I should have explained a little more. It's classified as an 11 foot 2 man skimmer and I can pretty much lift the back of it up by myself. When I was talking to the engine salesman he told me thats the kind of engine he puts on mini's for old retired people to cruise around on. I quickly said " I'll take it" . Lol! It shouldn't sound much louder than a riding lawn mower at full speed but guys have reached speeds of up to 35 mph. I know for sure I won't have 5 people onboard and I definitely won't be doing 180's on dry ground, but I am building it so me and my boys can cruise the shallow waters of lakes and rivers every now and then when ready. Heres the really cool part though. When I finished my 1st one I took it down to the lake for a test run and everybody that saw it literally smiled from ear to ear and had to come over and indulge in good conversation. It was the funnest thing I've ever broke outta the toolcave and I could only hit speeds of up to 9 mph when it was running good. Lol! But anyways I am hoping that it will hit at least 20 to 25 mph with two men loaded when I add this new engine/reduction & prop. Thats all I need for now. I think... noidea Lol! popcorn
