New to the board, new to Texas so no boat yet. Renting a bass boat for the day on Joe Pool - any suggestions on where to fish geographically? Seems like finding grass and secondary points is good this time of year. Let me know any info y'all have would be greatly appreciated! Wife is away for the weekend so get to spend some solo time, would like to hook up to a few. I'll be on the water from 8-4. Thanks.

Gonna be very crowded, not a lot of grass fish the flooded stuff on points and secondary points 1-5 throw a jig, creature baits, they will be tight to cover. After 11:00 go into 1 of the coves and hide or go turn boat in at noon. Or you will be sore Tuesday from all the waves. Good luck!

Haha. I fished it yesterday from 6-4. Yes sir.....6-12 would have been fine. When I saw the first jet ski....it was too late. It was like a stepping on a fire ant mound. Idiots were E V E R Y W H E R E !! I even went up Lloyd creek. Wouldn't you know it.....here"he" comes. Hammer down up the creek. Stumps and all. Nothing phases the fools. I honestly went home and watched the news to see if anyone was killed yet. These idiots have NO clue what that lake can do to a piece of fiberglass.

That's ok

I'm going to a small lake today that doesn't allow skiing.

Hey Bassassin...don't let em stop you. If you stay out on the main lake...yea...it's a mess. But you can get up in the trees in the creeks and still catch plenty of bass. If you're on the west side, go past the highline poles down the main lake. Once you get past the power lines and about a 1000 yards on the left hand side there is an old road bed that runs east and west off the east bank. It's very easy to find. Go east on the road bed and fish it all the way to the bank. Sometimes they'll be in the road, sometimes off to one side or the other in the tree line.
There is a very good deep creek channel that crosses it about 100 yards in. I have fished that creek channel with a jig or c-rig and caught plenty of nice fish. It makes a 90 degree bend about 100 yards south of the road bed. Fish that outside corner. There won't be any jet skis in there, or skiers, or pleasure boats. On the east side once you get south of the bridge there are two good creek channels on the west bank. Both of those creeks are good spawning creeks and the points usually should have some good fish on them. Don't ever let anyone scare you off. Where there's a will...there's a fisherman who knows how to escape the jet fleas!

Lake Fork reminded me of Joe Pool today for the sheer number of boats moving in every direction at once. I hate warm weather.

The best way to fish either of those lakes is mid week.

I went early this morning from 12AM - 4AM. Got them in about 10-15 ft on main lake point with tx rig brush hog and wacky rig senko. Actually caught quite a few slots and a few unders. No overs.

Note: there were people still drinking and boats coming off the lake.

OMG

What....finally ran out of beer? Or they couldn't find the boat ramp?.... Or both?

I went to Ckark. Caught fish till my arms got tired. Went through three bags of senkos and ran a 2-tap till the paints chilled off and lost an eye.

During the course of my day, I saw two other boats. One was a TFFer.

My "home lake", Joe Pool, will have to wait.

News flash. Forgot......

Another TFFer has invited me to dirty up his new FX250 with him at...Joe Pool. At least with his boat, we can out run most anything out there.

Steez,

Good to see you at Clark today. Much calmer than Joe Pool would be this weekend. I know what you mean by the jet skis back in the creeks. I'm amazed at the risks some people take. I took a video of some jet skis back in Walnut Creek at Joe Pool a couple of summers ago. These guys are regular risk takers in that I run into them several times each summer.

Good to see you too....

Don't know if it's the same a hole or not, but it was a blue jet ski yesterday that I saw too. Also didn't seem to think that "no wake zone" at the boat ramp allied to him either. I heard several people cuss and yell at him....multiple times. He didn't care.

I'm not a mean person, but I was kinda rooting for one of pools stumps to claim his watercraft. I would have fished him out....and told him what a dip [censored] he was the whole time.

I was on JP Saturday morning. They were schooling around all of the points I hit early in the morning. I caught a few on square bills and spinner baits. Then caught a couple on watermelon red baby brush hogs in the timber. Left at 11:30 and there were already a ton of pleasure boaters out... I met a fellow TFF out there, name was Demetri. PM me if you see this Demetri. Good day overall... But y'all are right about the crazies out there. I'll probably be back tomorrow. Drop by and say high if you see a red and white BassCat Pantera Classic.
