It would be nice if all the officials/camera men riding in the boats had a number to call Parks and Wildlife just for that weekend. I understand that they were out in force; so I am sure one of them would come a running if there was a problem on the water. you know what would really be nice mr harper is if people still had common sense respect and courtesy but im afraid its only going to get worse hell we have a president of the usa telling us that we have to let teenage boys shower with the girls at school so like i said i dont see it getting any better but i hope im wrong i do love this sport

As a safety concern they have DUI checkpoints don't they? I know that is public property also. An Angler has the right to not be hassled by you fools that think it is cool. It is the lax enforcement that is causing this problem. If you have 4 guys in 1 boat what is the weight load of that boat? Most of you Bubba's tip the scale over 275lb. That alone would be 1,100lbs. I'm not aware of a bass boat that is load rated for that. Not to mention all the other violations a sharp cop can hang on your arz. So is that how you see Government Involvement?
6'6 -265 and being a "bubba" isn't an insult to me. However, I have my pick of lakes and would rather go fishing somewhere else than mess with the circus that these big events usually bring to town. No offense to those who do attend. I'm also not going to call the GW if someone cuts me off or catches a fish in front of me. Regardless of whether I'm in a tourney or not. We "Bubba's " call that wearing big boy pants and just go on with our day...

Wonder if your skill set allowed you to fish for $100,000 with a $2,500 entry fee 800 miles or so away from home how gracious you would feel? Dan

if you are going to block boats and areas that pros fish then come block areas for me from ski boats, jet skis and wake boats. We all deal with undesirables when we fish and we find a way to make it work. No reason not to expect the same from pros. I don't crowd other boats and don't appreciate it done to me but the fact that I am spending my hard earned money to enjoy fishing trips is no less important to me than someone trying to win money at it. The lakes weren't built and managed for one class. BASS chooses to operate on public lakes. take it up with them not local fishermen

I am continually amazed at how some people can condone this type of behavior just because it is on public water or someone is fishing for a check. The basic principle is it shouldn't be happening. Everyone of you who allow and accept this behavior is just enabling it to continue to happen. Have we degenerated so much as a society that we no longer feel the need for manners or being polite and courteous. I don't condone violence but this trend will result in that sooner or later. Someone having a bad day being made worst by someone being discourteous doesn't make for a good outcome. I am not scared to call someone on bad behavior. I am not going to come to blows, but I will politely let them know their action is disrespectful.
John K Fontenot Diapers and Politicians need to be changed often; and for the same reason.

Little touchy on the weight issue huh? Actually I'm 6'2" and weigh 195, so I'm hardly near fat. I guess I just don't see why an inbred from Florida is on the TEXAS fishing forum.

I would have done the same and props to the guy for his actions. That being said the guy had every right to say no. If he would have what then? I think on any given day most would move over like this guy did but if the pro or the spectator that followed acted in a way that made him feel as though he was expected to move that's where the problems will start. Respect is a 2-way street. This instance sounds like it was handled in a good way. Now if the local was to cut him off and the spectator went over and accidentally sunk his boat I would understand.

I have worked the last 3 BASS Elite events in Texas. I saw the hole jumping in many different forms the 4 days I ferried BASS Bloggers and Photographers around. I tell you how to fix it. I can't say anything because I was working for BASS. I followed Hank Cherry for 3 of the 4 days. One fan was there every day. On Thursday he was the only boat following Hank when we pulled up. On Sat. a local moved in on the short stretch of bank Hank was fishing and caught a fish not 40 yds. in front of Hank. Hank did not say a word but you could tell he was upset. Without anyone saying anything the fan who had been there every day put his trolling motor in high speed ,went up to the man, and politely explained the situation. (I could hear every word he said). The man put his rods away, hollered to Hank good luck and left.
Then answer to the problem is the TRUE fans should help police the other fans. Don't have to get in a fight, but let them know what they are doing is detrimental to the Tournament Angler. I agree 100%, I mentioned this exact thing and some yahoo wanted to know how the good observers could detour the bad, these idiots do it because no one is calling them out for the piece of [censored] they are, totally agree all it takes is calling them out, make a public spectacle out of them and the [censored] will stop!!!
