I saw Ernest post these a couple weeks ago, so I tried them last weekend. Caught fish on them, so I assume they DO work.... Someone made the comment that they change the jig's "profile" up, plus I was afraid that the blade would hit the tail & not spin correctly. I found these blades to add some color. Then I thought: What if the colored blade WAS the tail??........ I tied a few "jigs", with an inline crane swivel. I painted up some blades.... The back side is still chrome, for flash. Then I assymbled some of them..... To change the blade to a different color, only takes about 20 seconds and could be done "on the water". Not sure about vertical jigging, but pitching around docks and bridges, I think they will work GREAT!!! They are not overly large, about the same size/profile as Lane's Thump Buddy's..... Still waiting to try them out.......

These will all work some what, but careful that the blade does not turn the hook. I think the best I have ever used is tie the tail on starting at the head and end it at the back of hook. [no body at all] Way number 2 is use a collar type jig head and cut the front off of tube jigs, push up over the collar like a plastic jig cut the tail off at back of hook. On both hook the spinner over the hook and use a short piece of tubing to hold in place. these have been around about 50 years or more and they still have there day on the water.

I remember seeing some like this also and see no reason why they wouldn't work, but I would be careful in what size I use, but maybe since the blade is more in the middle and not offset like a pony head or Roadrunner head. I know if you use a 1/32 Oz Roadrunner like me and use a blade too large it will make the bait flip over and not just spin the blade, LOL!
I never think of taking a picture when the crappie are biting either, LOL!
I think it's a good idea!

Skip I have these in a seperate box, along with an assortment of blades. The "tinkerer" in me likes the idea of being able to switch/fine tune the blade color, till I find what they are wanting that day. Only takes about 20 seconds to go from this: To this: To this: To this (and so on)....

No sir, not as of yet. My work schedule/mother nature have not allowed me to try these out yet. I want to try some belly spins, just gotta break down and do it Lol, I just solved THAT problem also. I am going to sell some of these heads (to help pay for the new molds). PM if interested.

I like the way you are thinking with the tail spinners. I like to tinker as well and test my ideas in the pool. My only concern would be too much blade for the head. Check them out and let us know.

If you guys want to play with these bladed jigs a few idea's that I have used over the years. On added the blade as a tail best done with 8 pound fishing line tied in like flash. After tying one side hook line thru swivel O-ring and tie back to the head. A tail that moves side to side can be added the same way just tie tail on a bream hook and cut the hook off and tie it in. On this type of jig head most people like a hook eye or wire coming out instead of the swivel just use wire or hook eye of the same size to fit mold. The best company for spinner parts is "chuck and debs" which is part of the Blakemore {road runner} company and a good place to check out for parts or to see what's out there.
