On my Skeeter 2007 SL210, the fuel gauge and the trim up/down gauge no workey anymore. Worked intermittently last two seasons, now zip zero.

Is there a specific fuse or breaker that controls gauges? Tachometer and speedometer work okay.

Any suggestions would be helpful, thank you.

Many speedometers are water pressure driven (and quite inaccurate) so seeing that gauge working isn't saying much unless you have a newer electric speedometer. Generally, all gauges get their 12V and Ground from the same circuits. So, unless someone has been messing with wiring, the fuel and trim gauges are probably getting power just as the tachometer is getting power.

Check for 12V on the back of the affected gauges. Positive 12V is usually a purple wire, and Ground is black. The senders for both of those gauges are prone to failure more than the gauges are. Unless you're mechanically/electrically inclined you're probably going to need a marine mechanic.

Check the grounds on those gauges too.

If he checks for 12V using the purple and black wires on the back of the gauge, he already IS checking the Ground.

Not necessarily because I have seen guys checking not moving the ground side. I have found bad grounds by clipping to power and use the light at each ground.

OK, follow MY instructions exactly (again) here. I said exactly what to do, and that it WILL test for both. With a meter, (or test light) you would puts the negative lead ON THE NEGATIVE TERMINAL of the gauge. I never said "just any 'ol Ground point". At the same time, the other lead of the test device is placed on the POSITIVE TERMINAL of the gauge.

NOW...if EITHER ONE of those studs doesn't have the required GROUND or POSITIVE 12V connection, the test will fail - for instance, no bulb lightey up. Get it? That method checks for BOTH simultaneously, guaranteed. So, given my specific instructions of how to proceed, I disagree with your "not necessarily" assessment.

Update on gauges: trim gauge works fine, after having trim switch on throttle replaced.

fuel gauge shows 2/3 full when topped off; when tank gets near half empty, sometime shows 1/4 tank, but mostly shows empty. Would that be a sending unit? Is that located on the tank?

Speedometer gauge zip zero. Used to work fine until this season.

Speedo is water pressure driven on my newer 2008 SL180. Your's is probably the same. Assuming you don't have a water leak in the pickup line, the pickup is probably clogged. There's a small hole in the leading edge of your lower unit. It's probably clogged with wood from hitting a stump. Use a small drill bit and clear it out by hand. Don't use a drill. It's a pretty common problem, but most guys don't care about that speedo bc it's so inaccurate compared to gps speed.

Fuel tank sending unit is in the tank. I never trust boat fuel gauges. They've never seemed accurate to me. They vary too much b/t readings on trailer vs on plane vs just floating. I visually check the level in mine bc I can see the tank in the bilge by opening one of the rear compartments.

Thank you. I did hit a stump at idle speed last Fall, so I will check that hole on lower unit.

I also check my fuel tank visually and have a pretty good idea at all times as to fullness.

Best regards
