I just took my first kayak fishing trip. just purchased a small kayak from a co-worker until I can get what I really want. I had a blast doing it but struck out. A few bites over the weekend, but Texoma was pretty tight lipped anyway and the water looked like chocolate milk. Any suggestions on places near Denton that are good kayak spots? I'd like to avoid as much boat traffic as possible.

I have never tried Hagerman anyone else. Lot of good areas to fish including Big Mineral!

I have fished the Elm Fork north of Denton for whites in the Spring with much success; never tried it any other time of year. The park on 380 where I put in is currently closed for construction. I have also heard that the fishing can be good off of Lake Park, but the section where I would want to launch is also closed for construction!

Too much construction closings! I was gonna go launch at the greenbelt last week but decided against it. thought they might frown on me going around their barriers

I may know someone who has done this...

You can park on the other side of 380 btw

Go a little further North on 428 and launch from there. Then you can go down river. I fished upriver from 428 a few months ago and caught a bunch of large mouth.

As mentioned before, you can park on the other side of 380, but I don't know how difficult it would be to launch or how many log jams you may encounter.

I was curious about the fishing at 428 and greenbelt. I may have to hit it pretty soon
