Got a 95 Mercury Tracker 115 that needs a lower unit. My understanding is that mine is a 3 jaw and I can only get a 6 jaw due to the discontinuation of the 3. I have had it checked out by BPS and they have advised it cannot be repaired by replacing the gear kit, that it needs the whole gear case. Any ideas on where I could find a lower unit, maybe on a non-working motor, around north Texas?

Haunt Craigslist..... eBay......and bass boat central......I have a 97 125 (same motor) and i got lucky on Dallas... found a blown up 94 model and got it for $200
You can go the new route ....just have to change the shift shaft I believe...ask Pat Goff on here

4 cylinder 90 through 125 is the same lower.

I don`t know it to be better, You have to compare length of shift shaft above lower unit housing matting surface. Have it the same as your original lower. Best I remember their is a lot of difference in the 2 shafts length.
