Looking for boat salvage or junk yard in DFW area or up to two hours east of DFW. Need to replace a stainless steel grab bar that mounts to console of 21 foot fiberglass deck boat. It got crushed against roof of boat dock when the water was up a few months back and can't be repaired. My internet searches only find Houston area salvage. I think I will have to have a physical look at replacements to know if they can be adapted. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks to both of you. I think I know where you are talking about but it didn't look like much of a salvage yard. I will pay closer attention next trip, it is right on the way to the boat. I can't post pics from work pc, I will try and remember to post some tonight in case anyone else has any ideas for replacement options.

urchin: There's a guy in Alvarado, just west of I-35W that has over 150 boats, mostly for parts. I think his name is Steve, but I've lost his number. He used to advertise a lot on D/FW Craigslist, with old derelict boats for sale. I went there once and looked at his piles of stuff. As you head west from I-35W, there's a railroad overpass and a pond next to it, on the south side. His place is just behind the pond, in the woods, but you have to go to the next left turn, go down across the tracks, and take a left. Wear long pants and watch for snakes! Good luck!

I think this place is closed, from about two months the gate has been locked and I tried to call and the number is out of service, if anyone knows anything about it please let us know.
Thanks.

Ok, I was by caddo mills today and the previous owner passed away back in October.
Now Bassman Boat Repair has the shop, he has some used parts but NOT like before, he seems to be a good guy answered my questions and I will be back.
His number is 469-222-1807
I-30 and FM 36

Check around some weld shops. I bet someone could fab that fairly inexpensively.
