Gonna be heading out there tomorrow with a new boat we got. its not really new, its a older shoalwater with a 90hp Nissan on it. Has any one been out to POC lately? Hows the fishing been? What are some tips yall can give me to catch a few reds and trout? Do I need to use artificial or live shrimp? I need as much tips as I can get to try and get my family on some reds and trout.

South wind is pumping hard with a lot of muddy high water. Back of the back lakes earlier the better to beat the crowd of potlickers would be my plan.

If you can get to the bait shop to get some shrimp and get to the end of the jetty you can free line on the bottom. There is a big hole there and lots of people fish there. Reds both keepers and bulls. The sooner you get there the better you will be to watch the show of boats coming in to anchor and miss each other...lol
Just be careful and watch the weather. Gonna be crowded out there for sure.

Thank you I will give that a shot. Probably will give pringle lake a shot while im there with some artificials.

You can run around the edges and avoid rough water, no need to take the deep rough route.
