My daughter is coming home and want to get in some father daughter time. Any suggestions for fishing near McKinney? I will drive up to 90 minutes away but would like to have some guidance so I don't go where its overcrowded or bad fishing. We will be bank fishing and would like to find something fun to catch. Really open to anything. I mostly hit the ponds in Stonebridge Ranch looking for largemouth, not sure that will be fun for her though. Feel free to PM me if you would like to share a spot. I'm really hoping to find permission to fish a private Reservoir. I'm a 49yr old responsible working professional and I catch and release only.

If you still need a spot, head to the Bank Fishing section on this website and check out the Community Lakes thread. Literally thousands of posts about fishing in Collin County.

There are some HUGE fish in the Stonebridge ponds.
1) Lake located off Virginia Parkway, behind that watch tower. I have seen blue cats schooling bunch of perch/bluegill or red ear towards the bank and feeding on them when they try to escape.
2) Pond in the middle of community by baseball field. I have seen some of the biggest carp in my life in this pond. I think they are eating the golf balls.
3) Pond in community off 380. This pond has a LOT of bass in it. My daughter and I would fish here when she was 7 with a weightless senko and she would catch fish all day.
Unfortunately, security has been more strict since I took her 5 years ago so we don't go.
Prosper Towne Lake: This was a great fishery back in the day. Lots of big bass, nice size crappie and huge catfish. Between the over fishing and floods, many of the good fish are gone. My personal best bass was from this lake at 9.5 lbs. I haven't caught anything over 3 lbs in years.
