Looking to find good ponds in and around Mansfield to do a little bass fishing. So far the only pond I've fished at is the pond at Mira Lagos off of England Pkwy.

Donald R. Barg park in Mansfield has a pond with some bass. Also a little further out Southwest Nature Preserve in Arlington has a couple of ponds with bass. Oliver nature park in Mansfield has a small pond stocked, but it is pretty new and I believe the stocked fish are still pretty small.

I drive by Mira Lagos every day on my way to work and see people fishing there. Are there any fish to be had. I see fishing but not catching.

I have fished at Mira Lagos 3 times now and I have caught fish each time.. Last Thursday, I got into them on a top water bite and caught 13 in an hour and a half. I have caught them on a chug bug, buzz bait, spinner bait, and watermelon red baby brush hog. However, most of them are under 1 lb, with the biggest being probably 1 1/2 lbs.

Fished Mira Lagos again this morning for about an hour and a half after the storms passed. Caught 15 bass, biggest weighing about 2lb. 14 on chug bug, 1 on weightless watermelon/red senko.

Wow! I didn't realize the fishing was that good in the ML pond! I see people fish it all the time. I hope everyone is catching and releasing!

Went out this evening about an hour before dark.
For all records I was very ill prepared never being there before, I brought plastic lizards spinnerbaits rat l traps and a beetle spin. I was not prepared at all for the amount of moss in there. If you go bring a plastic frog or topwater. We ended up with 4 fish between the four of us 1 on the worm 1 on spinner bait and a Muscat and bass on the beetle spin. Also there were tons of people there, probably about 20 people. Probably in a be back soon with some topwaters and really dissect it

does Donald R. Barge park have big bass in it? I've only caught little one when taking my girlfriends son panfishing. I've tried throwing out senkos and top water baits with no luck. On another note I tend to fish Mira Lagos after work around 3 or so and I tend to catch some. It's a great spot to kill some time. I need to try lake ridge next time.
