What lure or technique do you suggest to use on lakes that are flooded with muddy to very stained water with little or no visibility? What colors do you use or prefer also. Talking about this time of year late spring.

i like using black first with soft plastics

Black n blue.

Dark colors in dark or dirty water
Light natural colors in clear or lightly stained water.

This time of year: Spinnerbait and chatterbait in bluegill patterns (some orange and dark green/purple in the skirt and/or trailer) shallow if you find bluegills spawning/bedding/eating bass fry or newly spawned shad.

Dark colored popping frog shallow also.

The key is to fish slow with your darker colors in the heavy cover. I love the spinner bait in muddy water. White with a little scale pattern this time of year with the shad in shallow has always been good to me.

In some lakes they will really react well to the big thumping colo. blade in muddy water. I always have one tied on at day break. Then you have those smaller bodies of water that a big bait just want produce. You will find down sizing that single spin to be the ticket. It matches what is swimming around up shallow. The bass are feeding on many other senses and do not need that big thump and in many cases are afraid of it.

For me fishing muddy water is much better than clear water. It is either big and loud or opposite with small subtle baits. It doesn't seem to be any between stuff like color, size, presentation and etc. to worry about. I am pretty quick to get on them in muddy water as they want one or the other.

Blk and blue, junebug, or solid blk for jig or plastics. For moving baits I throw a solid blk bladed jig with blk blade and a bone cranks most of the time in muddy water. I sell more chartreuse blk back and inferno patterns in cranks for people fishing muddy water though. Also a crankbait with a 1 knocker rattle is more productive for me in muddy water.
