Just bought a Skeeter FX20 single console wanting to add second. What's the good the bad and the ugly about it. Been fishing out of a single for years and like the space but like the appearance of the double consoles. Is appearance the only plus? Or is there something else I'm missing?

There is some protection for passenger, for sure re-sale will help. I have a dual console but I took it off and placed into storage do to the space. Definitely like the single better.

helps hold your cover up and prevent water from pooling.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

I've owned both and I don't miss the "extra " space anymore.
It's worth what little space I lost to know my passenger is semi comfortable, esp since since it's usually my wife in the passenger seat.

It's there for the passenger. If you fish alone you probably don't need it much, but if you fish with someone most of the time you really need one. They really help on cool mornings and long wet runs.

Partner is my son. I fish with him most of the time and he fishes with someone half the time. He does not want a second console. The wife does but she is only on the boat a few times a year if any. If someone new is on the boat they feel a little uneasy at first about not having the console there but get use to it. If I'm a passenger I like it there.

I will never ever go back to a double, so much easier for someone to fish from center of boat.

I'll never have a single. I like the extra place out of wind, must have the glove box, wind drag (when running) is evenly distributed over two consoles, tarps fit/ride better, weight more balanced.

I will always own a Dual Console. Don't mind the lost space at all. The safety and protection it provides my passengers is the selling point to me. Usually this is my 7 year old daughter, keeps the wind, bugs, birds and rain drops off of her and is occasionally a place for her to sleep out of the sun when the bass aren't cooperatingsleep

I always liked the look of the DC's over the SC's as well. I also like having the glove box and the space under the console. Again my preference is mainly based on passenger comfort and safety.

Happy wife, happy life. Not a big deal and your normal partner doesn't want it(son)? I really like the single consol for what I do 99% of the time: fish.

Mine has one but I would prefer it did not. I would rather fish out of a single.

I have a dual. The only thing yhat I lose is room for the rods but they just lay along side it so no big deal.

My cover actually works with it in not sagging and puddling water, passengers love it, extra semi dry storage under it, glove box is very handy and gives the dog shade. I can't see any reason not to have one
