"The result was nothing short of mind-blowing, a revelation of dollar amounts that will have fans talking for weeks to come. Consider the total sponsorship dollars that these top-echelon anglers earned in 2006: Skeet Reese $600,000 Gerald Swindle $515,000 Kevin VanDam $500,000 Jason Quinn $400,000 Michael Iaconelli $370,000 Marty Stone $320,000 Keep in mind that this is just income from sponsors. It does not include tournament winnings or residual income from doing seminars (which can bring as much as $5,000 a day) and other public appearances." Looks like some of you that would HO yourself out for $300 a month are selling yourselves way short....

I remember reading this in Bassmaster magazine in 2007. I couldn't believe it. And around that time is when a number of those pro's starting touring in tractor Trailer rigs. Don't see too much of that anymore.

That's a lot of money for sure! The Classic has never paid $1M to the winner. In addition when it was reduced from $500,000 to $300,000 they also did not take all that money away. They spread it out farther amoung the field. The Classic pays out over $1M in total to the field. The only way you got the $1M with FLW was by being a Ranger owner back in the day if you won.

Economy was a lot better and lots of companies had more fun money to toss around.
I bet the list doesn't look much like that post '08. Sure the top 3 or 4 still getting paid, but a lot less down the line.

That's a lot of money for sure! I was asking about sponsorship money to anglers, not payouts for winning a tournament.
