I'm looking to buy a 2010 Skeeter with a 225 Yamaha VMAX series 2. I'm looking for people with experience running these. Good bad or whatever you have. Thanks.

they are good motors but require fuel filter changes every 100 hrs if you wait to change them until it starts to run bad it generally too late.

Ran one for 4 years zero problems. I used ring free every 3rd tank. Seafoam every 6 or 7 tanks. Changed spark plugs 1x per year. The lakes were low causing a lot of shallow water operation so I changed the water pump 2x. I'm on the water 2-3x per week.

My 08 200 hp V-Max Series 2 has ran great since new. Ringfree on every fill-up, plug change once every 2 years, fuel filter & water pump has been changed a couple of times. Along with lower unit lub. Nothing bad to say after 8 years. Strong engines.

Just do a little Google Fu and you will have no doubt but to run away from it.

When I was looking for a new to me boat a year ago....I read and came to the conclusion to avoid them no matter the deal or number of hours.

So what engine do you run? I'm interested because it can not possiblly be a optipop or a etec. If you trust everything off google with the hundreds of Google technicians, you wouldnt be able to even ride a bicycle.

Great engine just have to change the fuel filter regularly and the small fuel screens under the fuel rail. Mine blew up on me due to the little fuel screens getting clogged up.
