my fishing partner tripped over my carrot stix a few weeks ago and took a tumble in the boat. My rod snapped and so I contacted carrot stix about getting a new one.
They offered me the Wil Wild black 7 foot med hvy fast tip.
have any of yall fished this type of carrot stick?

You had better take what they give you. Rod Companies typically won't warranty a rod for user error.

Why would you even contact them in the first place to ask for a replacement? It obviously was your buddy's fault, not the manufacturer. I would be asking him to replace it.

I build custom rods for myself and friends and have been encouraged to start up a business - this thread points out the exact reason I won't - people think that the manufacturer owes the purchaser a new rod when they break one due to their own fault. Get your friend to pay for it.

I agree except you never know if you don't ask. Paid off for you. Take it before they come to their senses. Try it and see if you like it. Whatever it is it's better than nothing and they don't really owe you anything. Post a plug for them if they really give you the replacement for above and beyond customer service.

The funny thing is you didn't need to tell them your buddy stepped on it to make it break....being a Carrot Stix, it could've broke just laying there!

I have had 4 gen 1 Carrot Stix since they first came out and they are still the best rods I've ever owned. They did have some issues when ownership changed hands. I have 3 of their brand new rods and they are just as good as the gen 1's. The fact that arid company would just send you a replacement for user error speaks volumes about their customer service.
