We took our annual family beach house vacation to crystal beach last week. The wind wasnt in our favor and we never got to fish the surf but there were lots of trout to be caught in the bay. We did everything the weather would allow from wadefishing the banks to drifting reefs. Most of our fish were caught on topwaters or tidal surge tails. Its always fun to get away and fish the salt water.

I don't know what they weighed but our largest was 27" and fat. We had lots of fish in the 23"-25" range.

Nice Job. Fishing is really beginning to heat up, and should only get better as we progress.

Chris, would you mind posting about what color of tails and type/color of top water lures that worked. I get to fish the bays about 2-3 days a yr. I was planning to get down in 2 wks but i wonder if the fresh water has hit that area yet.

Thanks, eye

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.

Teach a man to fish, he will sit in a boat all day and drink beer.

Bone or pink tops and chartreuse tails. The fish should be locked on the reefs down there in two weeks. Fish the ones on the south side of the bay furthest away from the fresh water and they will be stacked.
