I'm taking a prep course for my plumbing license in Fort Worth all week long, so I brought my kayak and my fishing gear up with me for my down time. Grapevine lake is about 20 minutes from my motel and was thinking about hitting it up after class. Any recommendations on where to launch ? Or any other body of water I should try? I think I'm gonna make a trip to Fork on Friday to see what all the hype is about, even though I'm extremely limited to where to fish since I'm in my yak.

Twin coves marina would give you plenty of good water to fish.
I hate photobucket.

The fish are VERY scattered at GV now, the lake is still a good 4 feet high, maybe a little more. Since you're gonna be in a yak I'd try to get WAY back in the flooded stuff, where the bass boats can't go. I threw a 1.5 for a few hours the other day and caught a few small ones, but everywhere I caught a fish, there were one or two more there to be caught, I just had to slow down with a t rig.
Good luck.
