I'm taking the kids out to try and catch some sandies on fork. You know, get them hooked on fishing while thinning the population. I haven't chased sand bass in years, and don't really have much in the way of lures. I'm thinking small slabs or road runners?

That will probable work. just graph till you find the schools. Slabs, arigs, maybe a spoon or 2.

Those baits will work I'm sure. I always liked little George's but last weekend the bite was strong on 1/4 oz white road runners and chrome rattle traps. I was fishing pretty shallow though. Might need those slabs or little George's if you find them in deeper water.

Good luck! I hope you find them. I was trying to accomplish the same goal Sunday on Lavon with my 11 year old son and we finally found them and connected. We had a lot of fun.

If it ain't yours don't mess with it!

Thanks guys. My 6yr old son doesn't have the fishing fever yet, so I'm hoping a dudes day chasing sandies will get us there.
